Fertina Database

A major aspect of Bagtech International’s business that sets us apart from our competitors is our Fertina Database computer software.

Fertina Software came about as a result of the realization that value could be added to the production service we provide by introducing a computerized management system.

Our software was developed over a period of three years to become what it is today, a fully integrated stock control, production and warehouse management tool. But this software system’s other, and more important, function is it’s extensive live report generating capabilities which really enhance Bagtech’s service to their clients. Through Fertina we are able to efficiently and professionally keep our client’s up to speed with all aspects of the operations we run for them at the touch of a button.

The three basic criteria that were taken into account at the outset of Fertina’s development were:

That it should encompass all aspects of the production and stock control environment even to the point were, for example, bag weight control data is entered into and monitored by the software.

That it should not only lend itself the particular conditions and variable demands of an ever changing production operation, but also that it should facilitate compliance with International Standards of Operation such as in the case, once again, of correct management of weights and measures.

With regard to this point, Bagtech prides itself on the fact that aspects of its service, such as sweepings management, which generally speaking is not a priority of bagging companies, is efficiently integrated into the Fertina Database.

The third criteria for the development of the software was that it should be capable of working in conjunction with its client’s own systems and be capable of facilitating the efficient flow of information to and from them and the other service providers in the supply chain. For example Fertina has integrated the live-wire transfer of information via the internet from Sizanani, the nationwide computerized truck scheduling system. The effect of this kind of capability of the Fertina Database is that Bagtech, its clients’ and their other service providers have a greater degree of synergy and therefore production and distribution are more efficient.

At present, access to the information generated by the Fertina Database has been via e-mail reports. However that is all about to change in the near future. Bagtech is at an advanced stage of development of an on-line version of Fertina Software on the Web from which their clients will be able to extract real time information on our operations.

We have attached some examples of the kinds of Reports which the Fertina Database typically generates.
